•Able to work independently and take over leadership roles.

Job Description
Manage all manufacturing activities in stamping. Provide expertise and direction for productivity improvements and cost reduction activities. Supervise and manage a team of production personnel comprising of engineer, supervisor, and technicians. Manages manufacturing operations using Lean Manufacturing principles and methodology
•Manages the stamping manufacturing operations to achieve APU KPIs in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost Reduction, OEE and TEEP.
•Manage the stamping production and lead all technical/engineering activities in stamping areas with support from the Tooling Manager.
•Develops Stamping annual budget and KPIs.
•Manages and implement effective continuous process improvement to maximize uptime and utilization.
•Establish product standard cost, process flow and workplace layout.
•Work closely with the Tooling Manager to ensure stamping dies are readily available for change-over as and when needed.
•Provide technical support and direction to vending department.
•Develops, train and upgrade the skill level of subordinates and also the succession plan.
•Develops safe work environment and practices, and comply with safety regulations, EMS policy and business ethics of the company.
•Contribute with technical and financial data for improvement of existing products/ expansion / new projects. Implement when approved.
•Explore and suggest new technologies or best practices. Follow up to completion when approved.
•Work closely with other departments functions in achieving desired results of the projects and product developments.
•In charge of transfer machines, tooling and peripherals to other sites and from other sites.
Requirements
•Minimum Diploma in tool and die/mechanical engineering or Degree in mechanical engineering advantageous.
•Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in stamping and manufacturing, stamping tool design and tool making
•Knowledge and expertise in tool room operations.
•Knowledge in stamping manufacturing process.
•Experience in running tooling and manufacturing activities.
•Experience in running technical stamping.
•Taking initiative and contribution of innovative ideas.
•Good analytical and time management capability.
•Able to work under tight schedule.
•Able to plan work systematically.
•Practitioner of lean manufacturing or JIT.
•Willing to travel overseas for personnel training, products and equipment transfers.

•Design and develop product and tool to meet specific technical/engineering requirements within schedules and cost
•Design and develop quality product and tool to ensure manufacturability besides meeting acceptable gross margins.
•Coordinate and ensure successful start up of new products or implementation of new projects
•Estimate mill cost, tooling cost and provide samplers new or modified products on potential opportunities
•Liaise with customers on design improvement, which could result in lower cost and sales price.
•Improve existing tool and product designs to bring about reduction in manufacturing cost.
•Upgrade and improve design capabilities through training of sub-ordinates.
•Meet expectable gross margin for new product.
•Manage and monitor tooling investment for new product
•Securing new product orders with price competitiveness through efficient design and manufacturing
Requirements
•Minimum Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or other relevant discipline
•Minimum 10 years tool design experience (diploma) or 5 years product design experience (degree).
•Must have design connectors experience
•Knowledge of Pro-Engineer / CAD / AutoCAD.
•Good interpersonal skills and ability to do work in a team.
